Hi! Welcome to our Natural Hair blog.

Okay, first things first - our story is very simple. We work together in a store in London (but we can't disclose the name for legal reasons bla bla bla). One uneventful, BORING shift (as per usual tbh) after talking about our hair journeys and types (Zee's a 4a/b with some type 3 at the front, Paris is a 3c/b) we came to the realisation that as Natural-hair-lista's(?) living in the UK, we don't have much access to all things natural hair - be it natural hair bloggers or vloggers, to actual hair products. It is the typical sob story of most curlies here in the UK. We are totally OBSESSED with our American counterparts - what they use, don't use - and have to go out of our way to locate, navigate and investigate on where we can get a certain product or service, and more often than, not splash out money we don't have on these expensive products that have been imported in.
So... That's where we step in! We are here to do it all for you! We MUST find alternative products that can be found here in the UK. We may include the odd international product if we've been hearing really great things about it and it's not too difficult to get our hands on. With the diversity between us, we hope to be more helpful by trying out the same products so that a wide-range of people can have a good idea on whether or not they should invest in a product. There's no point in reading a review by a 4c if you have 3a hair!

Anyhow... before we continue to ramble on! There you have it; our story and our reasons. Oh and, before we forget, this blog will feature other stuff as well. As much as we love natural hair, we are not only about that. We love dabbling into all things beauty, be it make-up, nails, clothes, SHOPPING *White Chicks style*... so yeah thats it. Reviews

As seen on my **New Challenge** Post (13/03/13), I have decided to invest into the KeraCare by Avlon product line to carry out my 6months healthy hair/ hair growth challenge.... So in the spirit of being as informative as I can possibly be, I thought it'd be beneficial to post up a little review on how each of these products reacted with my mane.

Enjoy!

1. Intensive Restorative Masque - £15.99 - PAKS hair shop (for monthly deep conditioning)
2. Humecto Creme Conditioner - £12.99 - PAKS hair shop (for whenever my hair needs a wash)
3. Butter Cream - £8.69 - PAKS hair shop (for whenever my hair is in need of moisture and for twist outs etc)
4. High Sheen Glossifier - £5.49 - PAKS hair shop - for sheen on glamorous - going out hairstyles.

1. KERACARE INTENSIVE RESTORATION MASQUE

This Masque was an ab-so-lute God-send! Especially after 2 weeks of avoiding moisture in any shape or form.. and I DO mean ANY shape or form (the lengths I went to in making sure my hair was moisture free(!) Oh lawdy lawd... totally ludicrous!). Anyhow, it has been a very trying time for my hair. Anyway, back to the review! - Yes this God-send had my hair all moisturised out! - in the nicest way possible.

I sprayed some water just before applying the masque because it DID say on the bottle that the masque is to be applied to clean damp hair bla bla. I don't shampoo my hair and besides, my hair and scalp take around a month to even get remotely "dirty" and I HAD just heat trained my hair with a heat friendly conditioner and shampoo (I now only use shampoos when about to apply some major heat unto my hair for less chance of heat damage) the day I straightened it so my scalp was reasonably clean :).

As soon as its rich thick texture touched my hair... WOWZERS. My hair left being dry, straw-like and deader than dead and was back to its bouncy old self. The product does have its own amazing slip but being the Extra Virgin olive oil junkie that I am, I just had to apply some on top of the thick layer of masque I already had on. I finger detangled my hair with much appreciated ease then popped my plastic cap on and waited for 3hours.

After the 3hours, I took the plastic cap off to have a little feel and my hair was soooooooo soft! I, ZEE could run MY fingers THROUGH my hair with EASE... not many products can do that for my hair. Its why I never experimented much with conditioners and left it to my good ol' tresemme naturals one!.. its nice to know I have found an alternative solution!

All in all, this product will definitely remain in my new regiment. I look forward to seeing how it restores my hairs' STRENGTH in the upcoming months.

2. KERACARE HUMECTO CREME CONDITIONER

This product was just a good conditioner. I apprecited it, but because I had not come down from the high of the masque... I FEEL like I didn't get a chance to experience it in all its glory. Next time I will try to use it as a mere co-wash (washing with conditioner only - minus shampoo wash) and not part of my deep conditioning routine. That way I will get see how well it restores moisture back into the hair and conditions my hair without the help from the masque. For now however, its safe because I can't find anything bad about it.

3. KERACARE BUTTER CREAM AND HIGH SHEEN GLOSSIFIER

Ok, so I'll start with the Butter Cream first. Something REAL weird happened to my hair with this product. As soon as I applied it to my hair it felt as though ALL that moisture that was blessed to me from the masque and conditioner was being STRIPPED away. It literally felt the way my hair used to feel after shampooing - the whole reason why I had to stop shampooing - Dead. Dry. Brittle. The ONLY benefit that I was seeing at that precise moment was the way in which it defined my curls - which by the way was truly outstanding - but nevertheless, I felt like it left with just simple undesirable hair... I wanted to throw on some more of the masque just so I could get that soft moisturised feeling again.

Anyhow... I shook off the feeling to do a sealing act with the Glossifier. This, in my opinion just made the WHOLE moisture situation a thousand times WORSE. I STILL stuck to it, twisted my hair and pinned it down with bobby pins. Just as I was about to rethink this WHOLE thing, I had a little feel of the rolled and pinned down twist after an hour and they felt GORGE! soooo very very soft! I am not too sure of what exactly happened but I thank sweet baby Jhesus that I waited!

I am more than pleased with my choice of products and I cannot wait for my twist out results tomorrow... I will be updating this review with the results pictures

**UPDATE*
Ok so this is a quick update on how my hair looked after I took down the twists from this wash. In the morning, I was rushing to go to work only to find out that my hair was about 70% dry and so my twist out came out absolutely SHITE with little to no definition.... However, I learnt something! The next time I attempt a twist out using the same products, I will be doing so on DRY hair!
